CLASSES TAUGHT

Periods 1 - 2:   Strategic Literature (Read 180). The curriculum is comprised of
  • Textbook:  Scholastic Read180
  • Computer software
  • Readers in various lexiles
Materials Pertinent to Success (every student should have his/her own):
  • pens w/blue or black ink (at least three)
  • pencils (at least two)
  • composition book (dispatches, penmanship practice, and journal writing)
  • college-ruled lined paper (home- class work, essays, etc.)
  • two spiral notebooks for Cornell note taking and for Reader's/Writer's Notebooks
Behaviors Necessary for Success (every student is accountable):
  • regular attendance
  • preparedness (willing mind, completed tasks, materials)
  • respectful speech and actions (toward instructor, peers, and self)
  • respect for classroom rules and procedures
  • willingness to bear the consequences for poor behavior
Periods 3, 4, & 6: English-Language Arts - 10A 
  • Textbooks: Language of Literature by McDougal Littell (Literature Anthology)
  Perspectives in Multicultural Literature  ( Multicultural Literature)

                         Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare (the parallel text)

Consequently, I need courageous parents to partner with me to exert the tough love necessary to identify and eliminate the roadblocks that we know will hinder our students' success, and encourage habits and behaviors that will positively shape their future.
